In a statement, broadband minister, Senator Stephen Conroy, said it was important to invest more money into the program, which gives access to broadband services while the $43 billion National Broadband Network (NBN) is in the works.
“Such strong demand for the Australian Broadband Guarantee is further evidence of a growing demand for better broadband services across the country and the need for better services in regional Australia,” he said in a statement. “The Australian Broadband Guarantee remains a very popular and successful safety-net program while the NBN is rolled out.
